Hard Ferrite (ceramic) magnets made of Barium and Strontium Ferrite have been available since the 1950's, and widely used of all magnetic materials for most inexpensive and great magnetic and environmental stability.
Both isotropic and anisotropic magnets can be produced. Anisotropic has an energy density 300% higher than isotropic. Depending on the base material, there is barium Ferrite and the higher coercive strontium Ferrite. Barium Ferrite material has been abandoned for health consideration and assurance in recent years.

After goods inwards inspection, the raw materials (mainly iron oxide, strontium carbonate) are weighed, blended, pre-sintered and ground to a fine powder with hexagonal crystals. For isotropic magnets, the pre-material is consequently granulated and pressed. There are two procedures in the production of anisotropic magnets. Firstly, the pre-material is dried and then pressed in a magnetic field. Secondly, the pre-material is wet pressed under the influence of a magnetic field. Then followed by sintering, finishing and cleaning. The surface can be machined, marked, magnetized or coated to customer requirements.
